GENERAL MANAGER for LAWRENCE VILLAGE, LLC BACKGROUND INFORMATION
We are looking for someone who wants to be an integral part of building or revitalizing an entire City, the City of Summertown, Georgia.
Lawrence Village began as a vision of members of the Lawrence Family. The Lawrence Family has been an active part of the Summertown, Georgia community for over 100 years. After growing up in Summertown, and venturing to other places like Atlanta, New York, and Fort Lauderdale, the children of Richard and Leola Lawrence came back together with the goal of revitalizing their hometown. One of the key retail locations in Summertown became available for sale and was purchased by several children of the Lawrence family.
This retail location, previously owned by entreprenuer Jack Bishop, was the grocery store, building supply store, and the center of retail business in Summertown.
The Lawrence children, having obtained post graduate training in retail, accounting, finance, business management, military, culinary arts and a host of other relevant disciplines, acquired this property and renovated the grocery store into one of the finest restaurants in the area. Patrons travel 40 to 50 miles away to partake in the delicious food prepared in LELA’s Restaurant in Lawrence Village.
Located on this 3-acre site owned by Mr. Bishop was the Grocery Store, the Building Supply Warehouse, and two residential single-family homes. As mentioned, the 5,000-sf grocery store was transformed into a restaurant and banquet hall, one of the single-family homes has been developed into a Bed and Breakfast and the Warehouse will be converted into a Motel/Bed & Breakfast (which will be an extension of the initial Bed and Breakfast).
The building containing the restaurant will include two other venues: a convenience store and a smoothie bar. The convenience store, known as JUST RIPE MARKET (dollars and sense), will be the ideal place to purchase the necessary staple items for the homeowner, guests and for travelers.
The smoothie bar, known as SUMMER SMOOTHIE BAR, is a necessary venue based on our market study. Other venues are planned, including a retail strip center and a swimming pool. making Lawrence Village an exciting destination location for the guest, the community and for travelers.
In addition, other members of the Lawrence Family just completed the purchase of an additional 46 acres adjoining the original three acres. The master plan for theses 46 acres is still in process and will be revealed in the near future.

LAWRENCE VILLAGE, LLC is looking for a General Manager with the qualifications and skills to help “Lawrence Village” achieve our mission and vision. In the process of achieving our Mission, these four development projects, LELA’s Restaurant, JUST RIPE MARKET (dollars and sense), SUMMER SMOOTHIE BAR, and the BED AND BREAKFAST, are underway. This position will include the important role of overseeing the existing operations in Lawrence Village while interfacing with the development team for the additional venues. This means that a person with an entrepreneur spirit will flourish.
Duties and Responsibilities
Core responsibilities of the position:
1. Oversee the overall operations of all venues in the primary retail location (Restaurant Building).

b. JUST RIPE MARKET (Dollars and Sense) Convenience Store
c. SUMMER SMOOTHIE BAR
2. Direct responsibility for the operations of the convenience store
3. Direct responsibility for the management and operations of the Bed and Breakfast.
4. Assist the Restaurant Manager with
a. Purchasing and inventory
b. Personnel management
c. Cash collections and deposits
5. Assist the Smoothie Bar Manager with
a. Purchasing and inventory
b. Personnel management
c. Cash collections and deposits
6. Supervise and oversee the property management aspect of all buildings in Lawrence Village
This position will participate in the overall profitability of the company.
This position reports to the President of the Lawrence Village, LLC.
Qualifications and Skills
1. A college degree in retail management is desirable but not required
2. At lease 5 years of Retail Store management experience desired
3. Marketing skills
4. Advertising skills
5. Hospitality management skills
6. Building/property management skills
